CLUB BACKGROUND

Following informal rallies in 1954 and 1955 the Veteran Car Club of Queensland became a reality in 1956.  Today our name has changed slightly but we remain the only club in Queensland dedicated exclusively to the world of pre-1919 motoring.

The Club enjoys the Joint patronages of  Her Excellency the Honourable Dr. Jeannette Young AC PSM Governor of Queensland & Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD.  The upper flag (at right) is the Governor's standard.  Click on it to learn about our Governor.   The lower flag is the State's standard.

Our Clubrooms and spacious grounds provide a focal point for meetings and other activities.   Members enjoy monthly meetings and newsletters, a comprehensive library, a widely varied events program and the friendship of like-minded people.

Monthly Meetings are held at the clubrooms on the first Monday of each month (except January), commencing at 7:30 pm.  Visitors are always welcome and our traditional pre-meeting BYO everything barbecue - from about 6pm - is very popular.  There's ample on-site parking, too.

Driving events range from simple summer breakfast gatherings to week-long rallies all over Queensland and interstate.   Period dress is purely optional but is quite popular.

Veteran Torque is our newsletter, published monthly to keep members up to date with events and all club matters of interest.  Financial members receive their newsletter in hard copy or as a downloaded .pdf file.   You can view back copies on the Veteran Torque page.

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in veteran cars - ownership of a car is not a prerequisite.  Everyone welcome.  Our Club Secretary will provide more details.

Concessional Registration in Queensland requires certification of the year of manufacture of the vehicle in question.  Our Dating Committee works with members to establish the correct year of their vehicles and provides the appropriate certificates.

Regalia.   If you would like to identify yourself with the club (as if your car wasn't enough...) badges, caps, shirts and other items are available.

HOW TO FIND US

1376 OId Cleveland Road, Carindale, Queensland  4152.  Sounds easy, right?

But..... the Clubrooms are not easy to find.  Entrance is from the northern Old Cleveland Road access road, just west of the Motorway (outbound from the city) and immediately before the turn into  the northbound Gateway Motorway access road.  Spend some time looking at the map - zoom right in and use Satellite View.
